...And I just miss my WJ Overland.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Black Exterior, black custom interior, 4.7 High Output.

It was a good place to be :'(

Why did you blow up on me? You know, besides that one time I forgot to tighten down the main camshaft bolt on the passenger side...

These are great Jeeps. My first car was an '01 with the 4.0. Really loved that car. It's my mom's DD now and she wants to trade it in. I won't let her do it though haha

It's been the most reliable car my family has ever owned. Bought it with 70k miles and its at 150k now. Literally haven't done anything besides change the oil in it.

That 4.0 <3 My XJ is at 210k now. '99. The last few k have been some wild romping in the woods, too. She is still going strong.

Mine had 250,000 on it, bought for $500 with a blown cylinder wall. Replaced the short block and kept driving it another 10,000. Sold it to a guy who was going to restore it and drive it with his 4 other ones XD

So somewhere...it's still hooning :)

Yours blew up because you got the 4.7 instead of the 4.0, I took a 4.7 on a test drive before I bought my 4.0 and it blew coolant all over the windshield. Nope. That said my 4.0 is at 107k and needs new shocks, wheel bearings, cats, brakes, heater core, and maybe something for the AC. AC worked before I had the head gasket and radiator replaced but now it doesn't so maybe a loose connection or needs recharged.

Yup, the High Output V8 is not known for reliability.

And, well, I rebuilt the block as a freshman in college, when I was just learning engines.

Many corners were unintentionally cut.

I hear ya. I definitely wanted that V8 with the sound and the power but I knew how rock solid that 4.0 was and I couldn't pass it up.

My wife and I had a 2001 Limited 4.7 from 08-11. Great jeep, wife drove it three weeks with no oil and it was sold for $1000. Still running fine, just had a noticeable tick. Miss it still, the 4WD would take you anywhere. And sooooo comfortable on long drives
